Menopause is a transition in women’s life, during which hormonal changes occur, included decreased estrogen and progesterone production, and menstruation becomes less frequent (peri-menopause) and eventually stops completely (menopause). Symptoms of menopause include heart racing, night sweats, skin flushing, insomnia, forgetfulness, emotional instability, osteoporosis, heart disease, wrinkles, headaches, vaginal dryness, atrophy, and infections, and of course, the dreaded hot flash. Hot flashes may cause a woman to become irritated and extremely uncomfortable.
Pueraria Mirifica (PM) is a root extract from a plant in Thailand, which provides all the benefits of estrogen, without any known risks. In the area of Thailand, where the plant is derived, there is almost no cases of breast or prostate cancer, people rarely suffer from osteoporosis, difficulties associated with menopause and andropause are nonexistent. The locals eat the root in their salads, and these individuals are virtually devoid of hormone related degenerative disease, including prostate cancer. Pueraria Mirifica is loaded with the phytoestrogen miroestrol that also improves cardiovascular function and reduces cardiovascular risks.1
Pueraria Mirifica phytoestrogens relieve symptoms in perimenopausal women using the Greene Climacteric Scale covering twenty-one symptoms of menopause.2 PM has an estrogenic effect similar to conjugated equine estrogens without the serious health risks of breast cancer, endometrial cancer, uterine cancer, and ovarian cancer related to synthetic estrogen.3 PM was proven to exhibit estrogenicity on vaginal tissue, to alleviate vaginal dryness symptoms and dyspareunia, to improve signs of vaginal atrophy, and to restore the atrophic vaginal epithelium in postmenopausal women.4 |
